Yoga in Moose Jaw

Carol Wallace is the founder of Yoga in Moose Jaw. She has been a yoga practitioner since 1994, when she became hooked after attending her very first class. Through her teaching, Carol wishes to share with her students the transformational benefits of yoga that she has experienced and the simple joy of being at ease in your body, while calming and soothing the mind and heart.

Carol began studying yoga with Kelly Green of Prairie Yoga Centre and was intrigued by her eclectic approach, which is reflected in Carol’s classes today.  Carol is a registered yoga teacher holding RYT 200 certification with Yoga Alliance, which she obtained by completing Yoga Central’s three year Advanced Studies Teacher Training Program led by Patricia Dewar and Mary Lou Weprin.

Carol has trained with Judith Hanson-Lasatar and is certified as a Relax and Renew ® Trainer.  She is also certified by the University of Calgary, Functional Synergy Inc. and Father Joe Pereira to teach the Yoga Thrive, Therapeutic Yoga for Cancer Survivors program.[Disclaimer]. Carol is very thankful of her training with all of these gifted teachers as well as, Father Joe Pereira, Lynne Minton, Neil Pearson, Gay White and many others that she has had the opportunity to study with.

Carol continues to seek further opportunities of continuing her education in yoga, deepening her awareness and understanding of the union of the mind, body and spirit.  She is inspired by and is grateful to her teachers and students from whom she continues to learn and grow as a student, teacher and human being.

Carol feels very blessed to be able to share the benefits as well as her love and respect for yoga with her students. She strives to create a warm, safe, nurturing environment in her classes, adapting them to the changing needs of her students. She encourages her students to challenge themselves, practice at their own pace and be aware in the present moment.  She emphasizes the importance of safety, breath and proper alignment, while honoring their boundaries.  Her classes are Iyengar based and her teaching style includes a mix of asana, pranayama, meditation and relaxation.  She hopes that her classes influence her students to live more balanced and fulfilling lives.
